“福嘉来” is a product name of Taitten that meets the standards such as sugar content, size, and cultivation method of the Taiten Production Council in the Zhoukou district. It has the meaning that “福, fortune” and “嘉, auspicious” are “coming”.
Taiten variety is discovered from a combination of the delicious “Kurono persimmon” and the sweet, huge & crunchy “Taiki persimmon”. The persimmon is characterized by its crispy flesh, thin skin that is easy to chew, fine texture and a lot of juice. It is also a large variety that is about 1.5 to 2 times larger than Fuyu persimmons. Each piece weighs about 400-500g on average, and the larger ones weigh up to 700g. The flesh of the persimmon will becomes a little softer as the days go by, so even those who like soft persimmons can enjoy it.

Fukuoka Prefecture is the number one producer of sweet persimmons in Japan, and is famous for sweet persimmons such as Taishu persimmon and Fuyu persimmon. Aikou aka King of Autumn, is a hybrid of Fuyu persimmon and Taishu persimmon, and after 10 years of research, it was finally registered in 2012.
It is a new huge variety which is completely seedless, and perfect crunchiness with sugar content of at least 17 brix degree! It is extremely rare to come by and only limited stocks are available per shipment during its short season from end October to November.

The persimmon tree, caqui or kaki in Spanish, has been grown in parts of Valencia and Andalusia since the 17th century. The prevalent variety in Spain, Rojo Brillante, emerged spontaneously in the 1950s.
In spite of the name–Rojo Brillante means “bright red,” they are orange in color. These are ready-to-eat without further ripening (they have been processed to remove astringency). They are sweet and not quite as crisp as an apple, more like the texture of good melon, and softer to a gelatinous mush when fully ripe.
