Yokono persimmons from the Shukuwa district of Saijo City, one of the premier persimmon-producing regions in Ehime Prefecture, are used to create “Anpogaki” (Half-dried persimmon). Unlike traditional dried persimmons, Anpogaki has a soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture and a concentrated natural sweetness.
Each persimmon is hand-peeled, carefully treated to remove astringency, and dried for four days to ensure a perfect finish. Produced in limited quantities, these luxurious persimmons are safe for all ages, from small children to the elderly.

Kotoku is a special variety born in Aomori prefecture from a natural cross of a variety called Toko and was registered in 1985, however it was not popular due to its small ball size (up to 230g only) and uneven coloring appearance until recent years.
It caught attention recently due to its honey well contained on the surface. The flesh is yellow with refreshing cripsy texture. When you eat “Kotoku”, the first thing you will taste is the sweet pineapple scent. You will be amazed at the elegant sweetness that spreads the moment you put it in your mouth.

Crystal pomelo (水晶文旦) is a specialty from Kochi prefecture, and usually available at the start of Autumn. It is mainly cultivated in a greenhouse and has a very low production volume.
It features a unique refreshing aroma and a crisp texture. When eating one grain, the small, crispy pulp pops and the abundant juice immediately spreads in your mouth. It has a good taste with sourness and sweetness, with a high sugar content of 14 to 15 degrees. It is very similar to Tosa Pomelo (土佐文旦), but there are fewer seeds and much fuller pulps. Compared to Tosa Pomelo, which requires to ripen to full yellow, Crystal pomelo are fully sweetened and ready to be consumed even when the outer skin is green.
It is a highly recommend product to try this Autumn season!

Akebi, a climbing plant, has long been native to the mountains of East Asia such as Japan and China. Yamagata Prefecture is known as the main production area, however it is a plant that grows naturally in the wild mountains all over Japan. It has a thick purple skin that will open up when ripened. The flesh of ripe Akebi (Chocolate vine) is translucent or white and has a sticky texture. There are countless seeds inside, similar to passionfruit. It carries a natural mild sweetness that spreads in the mouth, and has a taste similar to ripe persimmon, which is the taste of autumn.
You may also enjoy the skin of Akebi, however it is fairly bitter, so it is recommended to soak it in water for several hours to remove the lye. The taste of the punched akebi skin can be enhanced by frying or frying it in oil, or with tempura dishes, stir-fried foods, and kinpira.
Note: If the akebi fruit is not cracked, store it in the refrigerator till the skin cracks (1 ~ 2 days)
