Kotohime was bred by Kayito Omura of Top Berry in Nara Prefecture, and registered as a new variety in 2021. It was selectively bred using the large-grained “Tamahime” and “Kotoka” as its parents, which ranks high among the many strawberry varieties as a rich flavor strawberry.
Kotohime firmly inherits the rich sweetness of Kotouka but doesn’t have the distinct acidity of Kotoka, so the sweetness is even more pronounced. It also inherits Tamahime’s large grains that weigh an average of 30g and firm-natured, which makes it more lasting.

A new original specialty product of Saitama Prefecture , “Amarin”, which debuted in 2017. Since 2009, Amarin has been developed over the course of eight years, crossbreeding with sweet & big “Yayoihime” and beautiful fragrant “Fukuharuka”. In 2016, it was officially registered as a variety, after which cultivation began at farms only in Saitama prefecture.
Amarin is a rare variety that can only be harvested in small amounts from one strain. For that reason, the fruit is large and has a good colour and lustre, and is heart-shaped with a deep crimson colour. It has a higher sugar content than the main varieties currently grown in Saitama Prefecture, and has a smooth mouthfeel.
It is also called a “phantom strawberry” that is only available around Saitama Prefecture because the amount of production is small and the fruit is delicate. The appearance and taste is guaranteed, making it the perfect gift for that special someone.

Passion fruit is a vine tropical fruit tree native to South America and is a fruit of the Passion flower family. It was introduced in Japan in the middle of the Meiji era. Passionfruit has a sweet yet sour taste and a refreshing aroma, typical of southern Japan. The main production areas in the prefecture include the southern part of the main island, Onna village and Ishigaki island.
This fruit loses its acidity as it matures and is ready to eat when wrinkles appear on its skin (10 days approx at ambient temperature*). You can also enjoy a sherbet-like texture if put into the fridge. This is a fruit recommended for those who care about beauty and health, With a sweet taste but low calorie count as well as being rich in vitamins and minerals.
*For ripening, leave it in a room at 20 to 25 ° C where it is not exposed to direct sunlight or air conditioning for 3 to 7 days. “Peach Pine” is a variety cultivated in Okinawa Prefecture and was registered in 1999 (Heisei 11). It is cultivated only in the Okinawa prefecture region due to its acidic soil is suitable for cultivation. Their size are generally small, about 500-800g, and the skin has a reddish color.
