Shinano Pearl, a carefully selected product with a sugar content of 18 degrees or higher, is a plum born in Nagano Prefecture and was registered as a variety in 2018 (Heisei 30). Since it is a new variety, it is a rare plum that is produced in small quantities. It is a very late variety that matures in late September, and its most distinctive feature is its low acidity and strong sweetness.

In particular, plums selected under the Reigyoku brand fulfill all strict criteria: a sugar content of 18 degrees or higher, free from blemishes, and weighs 200g or more. The color of the fruit skin is pale yellowish-red, and the color of the pulp is yellow. The flavor is a combination of strong sweetness and elegant sourness, making it addictive. It is very juicy with plenty of juice and combined with moderately firm flesh. The skin is not too sour, so it’s delicious to eat whole. It also has crack-like scratches that are proof of its sweetness

There is a white powder (bloom) on the skin of the fruit, which is fructose produced by the plum and is a sign of freshness. When storing, wrap it in newspaper or paper and store it in the refrigerator to prevent moisture loss. Also, ripe plums do not last long, so be sure to eat them as soon as possible.
