Japanese Premium Yutoka Mikan (Mandarin Orange)
Citrus unshiu (open-field oranges) are cultivated mainly at the foot of Mt. Tenzan, which crosses Saga Prefecture, and at the foot of Mt. Tara, which is located in the southwestern part which overlooks the Ariake Sea. “Yutoku Mandarin”, named after “Yutoku Inari Shrine”, a god of prosperous business that is famous as one of Japan’s three major Inari in Kashima City, is the highest quality open-air mandarin orange produced in Saga prefecture.
It is only available as top 1% of the crop hence limited in quantity. It’s superb fragrance and pulpiness brings it to a whole new level, with little acidity during its starting season, which gradually turns totally sweet during its peak.
