Japanese Hyuganatsu Orange (Medium)
One of Miyazaki’s representative citrus fruits, Hyuganatsu is a refreshing fruit that resembles the scent of yuzu. It was discovered in Miyazaki in 1820 (around the Edo period). Later, it was named “Hyuganatsu orange” around 1890 and is widely popular today. In Kochi prefecture, it is known as “Konatsu” or “Tosa Konatsu”, and in Ehime prefecture, it is called “New Summer Orange”.
It has a light texture that is sweet and soft. It is often said that the color and taste are closer to grapefruit than normal summer oranges, but less sour than grapefruit. It contains high amounts of Vitamin C, Beta carotene & Pectin (Dietary fibre) which aids in anti-aging, carcinogenic prevention and digestion.
