Facing the Seto Inland Sea (瀬戸内海) and blessed with long daylight hours and little rain, mandarin oranges have been cultivated for over 100 years in Soho district of Nio, Mitoyo City. Among them, over-winter ripe oranges are the best-selected high-quality oranges that are usually harvested after being ripened on the tree for about two months by hanging one bag at a time. It has a high sugar content of 13 degrees or more and thin pericarp which is easy to peel.
