Japanese Akihime Plum (2pcs punnet, 350g approx)

Akihime (秋姫) was named after its birth place, Akita Prefecture, and it was registered as a variety in 1991 (Heisei 3). They are available during September to October when the signs of autumn are approaching.

Plums during autumn season has reddish yellow to reddish purple skin. The fruits of Akihime range from oblate to slightly pointed, and weigh between 150-200g, making them plump plums. The flesh is yellow and with a fine and gentle texture. It has high sugar content and rich juiciness, with similarity to “Kiyo”, which is famous as the King of Plums. As it ripens, the sugar content increases further, and the taste changes to a natural juice-like taste.
