Taishu persimmon is a completely sweet persimmon variety created by crossing the cultivar ‘Jiro’ and ‘Okitsu No. 15’. The flesh is crunchy like an apple, and is characterized by a large amount of juice. They weigh between 250-400 grams and has an excellent sugar content of 17-18%. 

If the sugar content is high, a spiral pattern may appear on the surface of the persimmon skin, called a stripe pattern. Taishu persimmon is a persimmon that has this pattern more often as it is sweeter and tastier, and this stripe pattern is proof of its deliciousness!
