Ichinomiya Town is a well-known peach producing area that boasts an overwhelming brand power in the Kansai region of Yamanashi Prefecture. The peaches in the mountains constitute an ideal planting environment, and Yamanashi Prefecture has the highest yields, hence it is called the “Hometown of Peach”. “Ichinomiya Premium” carefully selects peaches using optical sensor when the sugar content peaks during the season. Rare “Square watermelon” from Zentsuji, Kagawa Prefecture is a famous luxurious watermelon. They are first deveoloped 50 years ago in the idea of convenient storage in the refrigerator and to differentiate it from other watermelon production areas, and has recently become popular for displays due to its unique appearance. In order to grow it into a square shape, it is formed by fitting it in a formwork. As it is easily affected by the weather, hence there are daily checks twice a day in the morning and evening, and limited in quantity for the perfect square. Only 80% of the batch would grow into a beautiful squarish shape.
Although it is a short-season product, it is sold as a high-class watermelon for appreciation at high-end fruit selection stores mainly in the Tokyo metropolitan area. And those produced in Zentsuji City, Kagawa Prefecture are mainly shipped domestically and internationally for ornamental purposes. They can be displayed for over a year while being kept at room temperature.

Koujyu (皇寿) is a late-maturing variety which is discovered by Mr. Toshihiro Komatsu, a peach farmer in Minami Alps, Yamanashi Prefecture and is grown exclusively in the area. It is harvested a month later than Kiyou (貴陽) and has similar appearance to it, with a less acidic body, meaning a higher sweetness level of 15 degree and above. It is also intense in flavor with flesh that is super moist and juicy.
It is recommended to peel off the skin before eating which may be sour in taste.
