Tietons are one of the largest sweet cherries and ripen more than a week before Bing, another popular commercial variety. These early-ripening fruits were created in Washington State in the late 20th century and were selectively bred as a firm-fleshed cultivar. They are also notably larger than any regular cherries such as Bing, distinguishing them from other types in markets.
