Japanese Yoichi Sun Prune (400g punnet)
Sampleon or Sun is a variety selected and cultivated in Saku City, Nagano Prefecture, which is said to have succeeded in producing prunes for the first time in Japan, and is considered to be a hybrid seedling of “Sugar” variety. It is now also produced in Yoichi City, Hokkaido, and holds 36% of the production in Japan.
It has a high sweetness and moderate acidity which decreases as it ripens. The skin will wrinkle near the stem, which is a sign of ripeness.
