Japanese Yamanashi House Yume Touka White Peach (2pcs/punnet, 300g)
$25.00–$48.00
Yume Touka (ゆめとうか) is an early-ripening, firm-fleshed peach variety developed and cultivated by Yamanashi Prefecture as an alternative to “Hikawa Hakuhou,” a major early-ripening variety in the prefecture that is prone to pit splitting. The name itself, which comes from the idea of “a delicious peach that is as juicy as a dream,” gives a glimpse into its refreshing quality.
It has a firm texture and plenty of juice, and its flesh is characterized by a new quality that is different from peaches we’ve had before. Its distinguishing features are its high sugar content and extreme juiciness.
While hard peaches retain their firmness even after time has passed since harvest, Yumetouka peaches have a unique characteristic: they soften to a certain degree after harvest, and then their firmness remains unchanged thereafter. Moreover, despite being a firm peach, it is extremely juicy and has a very high sugar content, averaging around 14 degrees Brix, making it an already very popular variety.
