$128.00 $108.00
Since 2007, Shimane Prefecture has been working on breeding red, high sugar content, fragrant, and large grapes that can be eaten with the skin. A rare variety cultivated only in Shimane Prefecture, 神紅 (Shinku) , translated as Red God, is a combination of Shine Muscat and Red Ballad grapes, is developed after 10 years of research. The name of the new grape variety has the mythology meaning of “神” in the country where gods gather and “紅” representing its bright red color.
Boasting a surprising sweetness with a sugar content of over 20 degrees and aroma which surpasses that of Delaware and Shine Muscat, these seedless grapes are characterized by a crisp, popping texture that can be eaten with the skin.
*Starting season (mid-July) may have a milder fragrance and sweetness compared to later season ones (Aug)
