Japanese Homuran Melon
$25.00
Homuran (Home Run Star) melon derived its name from “baseball,” which was a popular sport at the time of development in Kumamoto prefecture. It is developed by crossing white meat honeydew melon and green meat honeydew melon. Unlike the net-type melon with a general mesh pattern, it has a smooth skin without a mesh pattern.
The color of the pericarp is milky white, and the flesh is white as well. When fully ripe, it has a creamy smooth texture and is characterized by a clean and elegant sweetness with sugar content of 15 to 16 degrees. Honeydew melon means “honey drop”, which is characterized by sweetness like honey and plenty of fruit juice.
