Japanese Akibae Pear (Small-Plus)
A unique Tottori variety, Akibae is a cultivar bred by crossbreeding ‘Kosui’ and ’20th Century’ at Tottori University. It combines the crisp texture of 20th Century pears and the moist juiciness of Kosui pears.
The sweetness is top class among Japanese pears, with a sugar content of 13 to 14 degrees whereas common varieties has an average of 10 to 11 degrees. Along with the crunchy texture, the rich, sweet fruit juice spreads throughout your mouth refreshingly.
