Japanese Oita House Mikan (Mandarin Orange) Gift Box (1.2kg)
$78.00$68.00Japanese Oita House Mikan (Mandarin Orange) Gift Box (1.2kg)
$78.00$68.00
Oita Prefecture is the third largest producer of house-grown mandarin oranges in Japan, after Saga and Aichi prefectures. Taking advantage of the warm climate, it is mainly cultivated in Kitsuki City, the coastal area of the Kunisaki Peninsula, Tsukumi City, and Saeki City.
House mandarin oranges, grown in greenhouses with careful control of temperature and moisture, are juicy and full of sweetness. House mandarin oranges bloom by heating the inside of the greenhouse during the cold season to create an environment similar to spring and are harvested earlier than in the open field.
Adjusting the moisture content during the cultivation process is one of the important operations that greatly affects the taste. In order to produce house mandarin oranges with a thin inner skin and concentrated sweetness, the tree must be subjected to moisture stress, so management is done with particular attention to moisture control.
Household mandarin oranges grown under careful management are collected at a fruit sorting facility, where they are carefully selected for sugar content, acidity, color, etc. using optical sensor fruit sorting machines, and checked multiple times by machines and human eyes before shipping all over the country.
