Japanese Kinrara no Kiwami Golden Peach
Kinrara no Kiwami (黄ららのきわみ) is a non-astringent variety which represents full sweetness at all stages of ripeness. It is naturally a golden peach with red blush skin due to differences in cultivation methods. Golden peaches are generally grown in bags to prevent fruit cracking, but some farms expose them to sunlight for a while before harvesting. Such bagless golden peaches are dyed red like ordinary white peaches. Kinrara no Kiwami has a denser flesh yet similar smoothness to that of a white peach.
It contains high amount of juices, which is the richest among gold peaches and mellow sweetness. The sugar content is between 14-17 degrees, which is extremely sweet with quality fragrance and taste.
To enjoy to its fullest, allow it to ripen at room temperature for 2-3 days for smooth and soft flesh that melts in one’s mouth, with increased water content (juice) and sweetness level.
