*Mid-Autumn Special* Taiwan Madou Wendan Pomelo

Called 文旦 “Wendan”  in Mandarin, these pomelos are similar to grapefruits in size and boast a refreshing fragrance. Madou Wendan are harvested from old trees of 30-40 years of age. They are firm and fine in texture with lower water content than malaysian pomelos. However, they are almost 100% sweet and sweetness can be further enhanced when fully ripened.

Wendans can be placed at a well-ventilated place for about 7-10 days. After the moisture is absorbed by the skin, the appearance of Wendan will turn from bright green to yellowish-green. The sweetness of the pulps will increase, turning even softer and delicate in taste.
