Summer strawberries, rare in the Tokai region, are grown on the “Hirugano Plateau” in Takasu-cho, Gujo City. They are grown in a plateau area with an high altitude of 850 to 950 meters, taking advantage of the cool climate even in summer.
The berries are firm and last a long time, so they are mainly used commercially in cakes and other dishes, and their slightly strong acidity goes well with the sweetness of fresh cream.
