Japanese Natsutayori Biwa (Loquat)
Nagasaki Prefecture boasts the largest loquat production in Japan and “Natsutayori” is an exquisite variety that was born after 19 years of extensive research. It was developed by combining “Nagasaki Wase” and “Fukuhara Wase”. Compared to previous varieties, it has a larger and rounder body, soft flesh, and excellent in taste, and has become the new ace of Nagasaki loquats.
Compared to the Mogi variety, the flesh of the Natsutayori variety is softer and juicier, has a higher sugar content, and is more delicious. It matures faster than the Mogi variety, and is shipped from mid to late May.
