Blood orange is a variety widely grown in the gastronomic countries of Italy and the Mediterranean Sea. As the name of “Blood” suggests, it is characterized by dark red flesh and can be roughly divided into two types (Tarokko and Moro).
Although it is also grown widely in Ehime and Wakayama, Oita is the best in taste and quality according to the evaluation within the industry. Grown in greenhouses in Hiji town overlooking Beppu Bay, the blood oranges are fully ripened, harvested, and then shipped after a month to enhance the sweetness. Hence the Taro species, which are mainly made in Japan, have the strongest sweetness among blood oranges. The flesh is vivid purple in color containing anthocyanin, a pigment that is attracting attention for its high antioxidant properties, effective in maintaining eyesight and preventing adult diseases.

*High Sweetness* Japanese Saitama Amarin Ichigo (Strawberry)
$52.00–$102.00*High Sweetness* Japanese Saitama Amarin Ichigo (Strawberry)
$52.00–$102.00
A new original specialty product of Saitama Prefecture , “Amarin”, which debuted in 2017. Since 2009, Amarin has been developed over the course of eight years, crossbreeding with sweet & big “Yayoihime” and beautiful fragrant “Fukuharuka”. In 2016, it was officially registered as a variety, after which cultivation began at farms only in Saitama prefecture.
Amarin is a rare variety that can only be harvested in small amounts from one strain. For that reason, the fruit is large and has a good colour and lustre, and is heart-shaped with a deep crimson colour. It has a higher sugar content than the main varieties currently grown in Saitama Prefecture, and has a smooth mouthfeel. While the average strawberry has a sugar content of about 13 degrees, Amarin has a sugar content of 18 to 20 degrees (equivalent to a ripe melon!). It’s so sweet that you don’t even need to pour condensed milk on it.
It is also called a “phantom strawberry” that is only available around Saitama Prefecture because the amount of production is small and the fruit is delicate. The appearance and taste is guaranteed, making it the perfect gift for that special someone.
