Japanese Bansankichi Pear (Jumbo)
Extremely rare winter pears with a small production volume “Oita Specialty Otama Pear Bansankichi (晩三吉)” is a limited pear variety that is available from late autumn to the spring of the following year, and is prized as a pear that can be enjoyed in winter.
The biggest feature of Ban Sankichi is its size. One ball average weighs between 500g to 700g and 800g to 1kg for jumbo size, has an uneven skin texture. When holding it in your hand, you can feel that it is heavy and plump. The flesh has a crisp texture with abundance of juice which overflows with each bite. It is also characterized by a subtle sourness and elegant sweetness with a very high storability.
