    [Winter Special]

    Local farmers brought the first Le Lectier trees over from France in 1903. Le Lectiers are considered a delicacy, as they are more difficult to cultivate than other western varieties and small quantity yields. They are cultivated mostly in Niigata, however has expanded to other regions such as in Nagano Prefecture, where the natural environment of Matsukawa Town overlooks the Southern Alps from the foot of the Central Alps. This area is blessed with a perfect growing environment, as it is located on a slope facing south which has big temperature difference between day and night, enhancing the quality and sweetness of the fruits.

    These pears are known for their superior fragrance with hint of banana and smooth texture, with a high level of sweetness. They are picked in late October and are ready to eat by December after they soften and turn fully yellow.

    With a soft texture, juicy pulp overflowing with fruit juice, its rich fragrance spreads within the mouth with each bite. As compared to other strawberries where the sweetness level is not as high at the start of the season, Sanuki Hime maintains its sweetness throughout the season, and makes an excellent gift for its beautiful appearance.

Purple sweet potatoes are generally not as sweet as yellow flesh ones. However, “Purple Sweet Road” is sweeter than other regular purple sweet potatoes. 

    The flesh of this sweet potato is lighter in color than other purple sweet potatoes, but turns deep purple when cooked. The flesh is a little powdery, so it is more fluffier in texture than sticky & sweet sweet potatoes. The recommended way to eat Purple Sweet Road is by baking, steaming and making into sweets & snacks.
