Shirokaga plums infuse beautifully, creating umeshu with a rich, smooth body and fragrant finish. Their firm, juicy flesh also makes for a syrup that’s naturally sweet and refreshing, or pickled plums that are tender yet satisfyingly meaty. A seasonal delicacy with exceptional versatility, Shirokaga Ume is perfect for anyone looking to make authentic Japanese preserves at home. Plum contains citric acid, which helps recover from fatigue, vitamins C and E, which are good for beauty, and iron.
Umeboshi is full of natural anti-oxidants, good source of polyphenols, which are thought to reduce the risk of diabetes, help lower blood pressure, prevent hardening of the arteries, and boost calcium absorption.
